As reported, the iPhone 3G showed up for sale at Wal-Mart today, but not at the $99 price tag seen in earlier predictions. Rather, the retailer is offering the 16GB model in black or white at $297, and the 8GB model at $197, which met expectations of more recent reports. Both prices require a two-year contract, making the price at the discount retailer only $2 lower than prices from AT&T or Apple.
By contrast, Best Buy recently lowered prices on the iPhone to $289.99 and $189.99 for the 16GB and 8GB phones, respectively. And AT&T is currently selling refubished iPhones for $199 for the 16GB model and $99 for the 8GB.
