Lenovo (992.HK), ZTE (763.HK, 000063.SZ), Beijing Tianyu Communication Equipment, UTStarcom (Nasdaq: UTSI), Digital China (861.HK), Samsung and Datang Telecom (600198.SH) were among the companies winning government contracts. Around 120 terminal manufacturers entered 400 terminals in the bidding; thirty-three handset makers were awarded contracts.
