One of the most successful brand names in the history of telecommunications has apparently come to an end. According to a report last week on the telecom news web site Unwiredview.com, Motorola has put an end to the development of the next RAZR phone. The new phone, nicknamed "Ruby," will not be brought to the market.
The decision followed two others by Motorola earlier this year- to reorganize its mobile phone division, and to begin developing phones on Google's Android operating system.
The end of the RAZR line comes just weeks after Apple's iPhone became the #1 mobile phone in the U.S., overtaking the RAZR after a three-year reign.
