Nokia develops smart home platform

Updated:2008/11/28 14:54

Tags:Nokia

Nokia has developed a smart home mobile platform, which will be used to develop a number of remote-control systems for services ranging from security to household energy management.

The Home Control Center platform will allow users to control the new services via a smart phone or PC. The platform is open, which will allow third parties to integrate their own solutions into it.

In a related development, Nokia has partnered with energy conglomerate RWE. The partners plan to launch their first joint product in late 2009 – a home heating management service controlled via a PC or mobile phone.

Nokia has also partnered with companies with smart home expertise - such as Danfoss, Delta Dore, Ensto, and Meishar Immediate Community (MIC) and Zensys. Nokia will collaborate with these companies to develop more new services for the Smart Home platform.
