The China Electronic Chamber of Commerce has released a report on the state of competition in the Chinese mobile handset market in 2008. The report claims Nokia has 40% of the handset market. Commenting on this, Wang Jun, vice president of electronic appliance retailer Suning Beijing, stated Suning will take advantage of the eight anniversary of the company's entry into the communications field to strengthen its support for other brands.

Following Nokia, the report states Samsung, Motorola, Sony Ericsson and LG have a combined market share of around 45%, with the remaining 15% split between Chinese manufacturers and producers of high-end terminals including Apple and Yulong.
