TCL Corporation witnessed its mobile phone sales volume grow 45.86% year on year to 1.2289 million sets in July, 2008, of which 165,600 were sold in China, says the consumer electronic products maker on August 12.

In the month, TCL sold 420,600 liquid crystal display (LCD) TVs, leaping 436.2% from last July. It sold 431,185 cathode ray tube (CRT) TVs in the domestic market, up 7.5% year on year. Sales volume of refrigerators and washing machines grew 11.55% and 41.3%, respectively.

TCL attributed the satisfying performance of mobile phone operation to its stable growths in both domestic and overseas markets.

TCL is set to roll out several new models of products under the brand of TCL and ALCATEL as well as some TD-SCDMA-based mobile phones in the second half of the year.

In addition to mobile phones, TVs, and washing machines, the Shenzhen-listed company also offers products like digital versatile discs (DVDs), audiovisual (AV) products and compressors.
