Motorola kept its lead against LG¨s leap forward in the US market
Updated:2008/8/13 15:23
In the previous quarter, LG Electronics chased Motorola, the steady leader in the US market. But, it failed to take away the leading position from Motorola. LG Electronics accounted for 21% in the US market, taking away the 2nd position from its traditional competitor, Samsung Electronics, thanks to the popularity of touch screen phones and the competition against Apple’s iPhone. In the previous quarter, the sales of mobile phones in the US market has grown 5% more than the previous quarter, recording 42 million units, despite the sluggish economy in the US. Market researchers said that the result comes from the steady development of new products as well as new plans based on the scheduled subscription.
