Singapore Telecommunications Ltd. (Z74.SG) may start selling Apple Inc.'s (AAPL) third-generation iPhone in Singapore at the end of August or early September, a person familiar with the situation said Monday.
"They (SingTel) have been seriously looking at launching the iPhone at the end of August or early September," the person said.
A SingTel spokesman reiterated a company statement in June that the company, the largest telecommunications firm in Singapore by revenue, will bring the 3G iPhone to Singapore by the end of the year.
Apple said late last month it will launch the touchscreen phone in 20 more countries Aug. 22, after initially launching the device in 22 countries July 11.
