US site iFixit has disassembled Apple's new iPhone 3G and found that Intel is one of the component makers for the smartphone.

Techies as iFixit, which covers Mac, iPod and iPhone parts and upgrades, said they took the new iPhone apart immediately following its launch in New Zealand at 12:01 am on July 11.

Their analysis found that Intel supplies the Flash memory, while other component suppliers include TriQuint Semiconductor, Intel, Samsung, Infineon, ARM, SST and Skyworks. TriQuint is a new supplier offering a range of components for the iPhone 3G's telephony features, including parts for UMTS, HSUPA and WCDMA/HSUPA.
