Motorola Names David Dorman to Replace Ed Zander As Chairman

Motorola has elected David Dorman to serve as non-executive Chairman of the Board. Mr. Dorman will succeed Ed Zander, the company¨s current chairman and former chief executive officer, who will retire as planned upon completion of his term at Motorola¨s 2008 Annual Meeting of Shareholders to be held on May 5, 2008.

Dorman, 54, joined Motorola''s Board of Directors in 2006. He is currently a managing director and senior advisor at the firm of Warburg Pincus and Co. He joined AT&T as president in December 2000 and served as chairman and chief executive officer from 2002 until November of 2005. Previously, Dorman served as chief executive officer of Concert, the global venture created by AT&T and British Telecommunications from 1999 to 2000 and as chairman, president and chief executive officer of Pacific Bell from 1994 until its acquisition by SBC Communications in 1997. He served as an executive vice president of SBC until January 2008. He began his career in the telecommunications industry at Sprint in 1980 where he served in various capacities culminating as president of Sprint Business in 1994. Dorman serves on the boards of CVS Corporation, YUM! Brands, Inc., and the Georgia Tech Foundation.
