China's Mobile Phone Shipments Down 6.2% in June

Recently, CAICT (China Academy of Information and Communications Technology) released China's Mobile Phone Domestic Market Operation Analysis Report in June 2017.

The report shows that there were 41.786 million mobile phones shipped in China in June, dropping 6.2 percent, and 97 new models released, a 29.7 percent year-over-year decline.

Though 78 new models of 4G mobile phone were released, 4G cellphone shipments decreased 5 percent to 39.615 million, accounting for 94.8 percent.

The shipped all-mode 4G¡¡mobile phones accounted for 89 percent of the monthly shipments in China.

Representing 91.1 percent of the total in China during the period, China's domestic-brand handset shipments fell 7.4 percent to 38.078 million with 91 new models, reducing 30 percent YoY.

There were 39.483 million smartphones shipped with a 5.8 percent decline, accounting for 94.5 percent of the total.

During the first half of the year, the handset shipments were down 5.9 percent to 239 million in China while the new models climbed 26 percent to 565.

Despite the 3 percent fall, the shipments of 4G handset hit 226 million with 462 new models coming out, accounting for 94.8 percent.

China's domestic-brand handset shipments dropped 4.3 percent to 216 million YoY, accounting for 90.5 percent of the total while 533 new models of domestic-brand were released, which decreased 26.7 percent compared with the same period of the year before.

There were 226 million smartphones shipped in China with a 3.9 percent decline, representing 94.6 percent of the total.
