At the 41st OFC which just ended, Hengtong Optic-electric brought world's longest 6-meter optical fiber preform which became one of the biggest highlights of the exposition.
OFC, managed by OSA, IEEE/ComSoc and IEEE/LEOS, is recognized as the oldest, most professional international event with highest global specifications and greatest influence in the field of optical communication, which brings together world's advanced technologies of optical fiber communication.
Hengtong Optic-electric took "Connecting Smarter Future" as the theme and explained the bright future of intelligence brought by the innovation of optical fiber communication science and technology. As the world's longest fiber preform, the 6-meter optical fiber preform exhibited caught great attention and the length of a single optical fiber drawing was up to 15,000 km, equivalent to the distance from pole to pole.
As the only Chinese enterprise with independent intellectual property rights of optical fiber preform, Hengtong Optic-electric adheres to innovation and investment, aiming to lead world's optical fiber preform technology. In 2016, Hengtong plans to invest CNY 500 million and establish Jiangsu Hengtong New Photoconductive Materials Corporation engaging in production and marketing of optical fiber preforms, of which the total planned capacity is 1,500 tons. Hengtong will further reduce production costs significantly and improve the core competitiveness of the optical fiber and cable industry chain.
Hengtong also exhibited intelligent ODN solutions and products including MiniCom® SMF Low-loss 200μm diameter bending-loss insensitive single-mode optical fiber, SeaCom® G.654 Low-loss and ultra large-effective area fiber for sea, including 110μm2 and 130μm2, NGFCom® G.652.D Next Generation Communication Fiber and submarine optical cable. During the exposition, Hengtong's experts are invited to the forum summit and communicate extensively with the global industry experts about collaboration opportunities and seeking the driving force of science and technology which affects the development of the industry.
