At Mobile World Congress 2016, ZTE Corporation (0763.HK/000063.SZ), a major international provider of telecommunications, enterprise and consumer technology solutions for the Mobile Internet, ZTEWelink Technology Co., Ltd., the subsidiary of ZTE Corporation, and Mojio, a leading open connected car cloud platform provider, signed a strategic cooperation agreement to penetrate the rapidly growing global connected car market.

"With this agreement, ZTE becomes the first Tier 1 handset device manufacturer to benefit from the Made for Mojio certification program, enabling a turnkey connected car solution for mobile operators around the world. By connecting a Made for Mojio certified ZTE device to most cars made since 1996, drivers can unlock previously hidden automotive data and access an ever-growing suite of connected car apps that will help them drive better, save money, and keep an eye on what matters most", stated Kenny Hawk, CEO of Mojio.

Over the last two years, ZTEWelink began to enter the European and U.S markets and provide operators with intelligent OBD and TBOX products based on LTE technology”, said Wang Zhijun, VP of ZTEWelink, “We are delighted to cooperate with Mojio and we will work together to provide global operators and partners with E2E solutions and help them rapidly launch connected car services.”
According to a recent Gartner forecast, the number of connected devices will reach 6.4 billion units in 2016 worldwide, and will increase to around 21 billion by 2020. Since 2009, ZTE invested heavily in IOT, and proposed M-ICT strategy in 2014 to focus on industry informatization. Today ZTE has achieved fast development in IOT industry and intelligent patent layout.
