ZTE M6000-S Product Series Successfully Passes the OpenFlow Conformity Test

Updated:2014/10/16 22:46

16 October 2014, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation, a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, has announced that the ZTE M6000-S series broadband multi-service gateway (BSMG) products have successfully passed the OpenFlow 1.3 conformity test organised by the Beijing Internet Institute (BII).

The high performance and large bandwidth ZTE M6000-S series has integrated software-defined networking (SDN) services and can manage combined SR (service router), BRAS (broadband remote access server and CGN (carrier-grade network) address translation.

The M6000-S series is intended principally for the service control layer, and is capable of bearing all services uniformly to help build customers’ future-oriented, open and flexible networks with room for delivery capacity services at high performance levels. The products passed all 709 tests in the OpenFlow 1.3 conformity test, including the basic services test, protocol conformity, performance specifications and interconnection tests.

In the Open Networking Foundation (ONF) Plugfest test in May, the M6000-S passed all interconnection tests and successfully carried out global remote interconnection. ONF Plugfest 2014, the first multinational test carried out by China and America at the same time, focused on both OpenFlow 1.3 interconnection and global interconnection on the basis of OpenFlow technology.

As a major global communications device and solution provider, ZTE is committed to investment in SDN. In September 2011, it joined the ONF and offers an open system architecture that covers the network device layer, controller layer and service orchestration layer to enable flexible service composition and self-defined network services.
