Updated:2014/9/24 11:21

After selling the mobile device business to Microsoft, Nokia Solutions and Networks (hereinafter referred to as NSN) has an increasing growth of profitability with the operating profit reached 281 million Euros in the second quarter in 2014, and its operating margins was 11% in the same quarter and the net sales increased nearly 10% than last quarter, which has achieved lucrative operating profits in continual 8 quarters; among them, operating profitability rate has achieved more than 35% in 5 quarters.

Markus Borchert, the President of NSN Greater China said to C114, the efforts and investments that NSN has dedicated in the global promotion and commercialization of 4G TD-LTE technology has obtained Chinese leaders’ acknowledgment and great support. NSN believes TD-LTE will be a successful case on complementary win-win situation between China and European technology and market.

The lasting investment also brings recognition of China’s market to NSN. During the second China Mobile TD-LTE bidding, NSN is the only foreign manufacturer which obtains double-digit market share; this will strengthen NSN’ position among top three partners with China Mobile TD-LTE and extend NSN’ 4G business coverage in 18 cities among 31 administrative regions, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangdong and other megacities and prosperous economical provinces.

Meanwhile, this also highly appreciates the technological advantages of NSN and lasting investment and support of NSN on TD-LTE global promotion. NSN has the confidence to extend business and become the most trustworthy partner of China Mobile in the future.

As for the future of TD-LTE, Markus Borchert believes that China greatly needs global leaders who dare to promise and be capable to cooperate with, to promote globalization of TD-LTE, the China-oriented standard creative technology. If it is only adopted in China, TD-LTE would be like TD-SCDMA with limited commercial scale and influence. NSN believes it is the most suitable partner who can satisfy all the previous conditions.

Currently, NSN has already deployed 46 commercial TD-LTE wireless networks in the globe, which accounts for about half of the commercial TD-LTE networks in the world.

Besides, NSN is helping China Unicom and China Telecom to build their own 4G networks and believes the LTE hybrid networking combined with spectrum resource and TDD, FDD two technological advantages, will become the best way to meet the increasing needs of mobile broadband consumption in the mid-term.
