Huawei Technologies Co Ltd, the world's second-largest telecom equipment maker, recently secured 3G network equipment supply orders from China Telecom Corp Ltd, the nation's largest fixed-line operator, sources reported.
Huawei has deployed two CDMA2000 1x EV-DO Rev. B networks in Beijing and Guangzhou, which will help the Chinese telco improve capacity, throughput and latency on its existing EV-DO network and offer sophisticated 3G services to its subscribers including VoIP, voice-on-demand and media streaming, said Huawei.
Huawei booked US$21.5 billion in sales revenue in 2009, 26.5% more than the US$17 billion it recorded in 2008. The firm's contracted sales last year increased 28.8% year on year to more than US$30 billion, according to an earlier report from China Knowledge.
