Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) today announced the appointment of Osvaldo di Campli as President of the Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) Regional Unit. Victor Agnellini, who had served as the CALA regional unit leader, was recently appointed global Senior Vice President of Transformation.
Di Campli will report to Robert Vrij, President of the Americas Region, and will provide strategic direction and management of operations, sales and marketing, as well as business development in CALA.
Alcatel-Lucent operations in the CALA region include close to 5,000 employees and offices in 17 countries from where the company serves a growing base of service provider, enterprise and vertical customers. The region hosts a number of regional engineering centers as well as testing and integration labs for data, optical, wireless, access and broadband networks.
“Osvaldo is a seasoned executive with deep industry experience, strong customer relationship and a proven track record of helping Alcatel-Lucent expand its footprint in CALA,” said Vrij. “He understands our business, our industry, our customers and our employees. His energy will help Alcatel-Lucent continue its expansion in CALA by helping our customers evolve their networks and embrace the new Web 2.0 services and applications that will improve the web experience both today and tomorrow for enterprises and end users.”
Most recently Di Campli served as Alcatel-Lucent’s Solutions & Marketing Vice President for the CALA region, responsible for leveraging the company’s products and services to create customer relevant solutions in the region. As such, he managed the following functions: Solutions Architects, Technical Sales Support, Technical (CTO) Resources, Regional Marketing, Regional Support Centers, Complex Bids and Strategy.
Prior to that position, Di Campli was Regional Sales Vice President in charge of the company’s operations in Mexico from where he also directed all business development and commercial efforts for the Mexican conglomerates with footprint throughout Latin America. Previously he served as director of technical sales support for Latin America and was ultimately responsible for the expansion and implementation of the portfolio strategy for the region. In addition, Osvaldo held a number of management positions in the company including R&D in Chicago, Wireless Technical Support in Atlanta, Project Management in the Caribbean, and has worked on several worldwide initiatives.
Osvaldo di Campli has an honors degree in electrical engineering from the Buenos Aires Institute of Technology in Argentina, and also completed several executive development programs. He is a member of the IEEE Institute Electrical and Electronics Engineers and Alummi ITBA Association. He resides in Florida with his wife and three children.
