Huawei and Netcom (subsidiary of TeliaSonera in Norway) today announced a successful showcase of "live" services over the world' s first commercial LTE (Long Term Evolution) network in Oslo, Norway after the world's first mobile broadband Internet connection was achieved early this month.

Versatile applications that have a high requirement on bandwidth and latency such as VoD (Video on Demand), video streaming, FTP (File Transfer Protocol), web surfing, video conferencing and video telephony were demonstrated under real outfield network conditions. Through the adoption of key LTE technologies such as MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) and OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex), the network is able to deliver download peak data rate of up to 150Mbps in one LTE cell with multiple terminals.

"Thanks to Huawei' s innovative LTE solution, it can help us keep in leading position", said Mr. August Baumann, president of Netcom, "This new technology will enable our customers to enjoy high speed and high quality 4G mobile broadband communications. "

"We are very glad to share our progress with our customers, and are committed to working closely with our customer to realize the full benefits of a world-leading LTE network within reach for end-users." said Edward Zhou, Marketing Director of Huawei European Region.

Huawei' s LTE solution provides an All-IP, high speed, low latency and high spectrum efficiency mobile network. LTE technology will deliver new mobile data rates, which will enable TeliaSonera to introduce the fastest mobile broadband experience to the customers and bring them to a brand-new mobile broadband era.
