Alvarion has signed a contract with Taiwan's VMAX Telecom to deploy Mobile WiMAX, beginning in the Taoyuan and Hsinchu counties, in Northern Taiwan. Under the terms of the agreement, Alvarion will provide VMAX Telecom with its WiMAX Forum Certified BreezeMAX 2500 base station, as part of the company 4Motion solution.

VMAX Telecom was awarded a WiMAX license by the National Communications Commission of Taiwan in July 2007.
