US-based networking solutions provider 3Com Corporation has won a contract to provide the Government of Israel with advanced core and edge networking solutions for its new LAN infrastructure project. The multi-year agreement is part of the government's plans to build new network to support its growing online initiatives.
The Israeli government will deploy the following 3Com core and edge networking products: 3Com Switch 8800s, modular core switches for security and granular control for non-stop availability of critical applications; 3Com Switch S7900Es, modular core switches; and 3Com Switch 5500s, 4800s, 4500s and 4200s stackable switches; and IMC management platform.

Ron Sege, president and COO of 3Com, said: "They deserve high-quality solutions and ultra-responsive support at a lower price point, particularly in today's economic environment. 3Com once again separated ourselves from the competition by delivering exceptional business value and higher performance."
