Huawei Showcases End-to-End Green Ultra Broadband Solutions
Updated:2008/11/18 17:30
Huawei Technologies Co Ltd. ("Huawei"), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions worldwide, today showcased an impressive line up of end-to-end green ultra broadband solutions at the 2008 GSMA Mobile Asia Congress, which is being held in Macau from November 18 to 20, 2008. Carrying the theme "Experience Green Ultra Broadband Solutions," Huawei showcased a series of advanced commercial applications in WiMAX and LTE technologies, all with strong emphasis on preserving environment with low energy consumption, ultra high bandwidth and excellent user experience. During the event, Huawei demonstrated real-time multiuser mobility using LTE applications by allowing users to experience ultra broadband solutions on potential commercial applications such as interactive online gaming and HDTV on demand. LTE-based ultra broadband solutions increase the data rate and throughput capacity up to 173Mbps and deliver better end-user experiences by providing reduced latency. This also results in them having a very short set-up time and near instantaneous buffering even on high definition video streaming services, thus providing end-users with a seamless and responsive experience. At 2008 GSMA Mobile Asia Congress, Huawei will also hold discussions with event delegates and explore how to optimize urban and rural wireless broadband coverage through the use of HSPA and HSPA+ technologies. Huawei will also use the event to share its experience in green network building and demonstrate its end-to-end energy-saving and emission-reduction solutions. Huawei has globally deployed industry leading UMTS/HSPA technologies as well as taking a leading position in LTE development. Since 2005, Huawei has put forward more than 800 LTE proposals and 500 SAE proposals to the 3GPP organization. In addition, Huawei has worked with leading operators in Europe, North America and Japan to co-deploy LTE network trials and has acquired rich experience in MIMO, interference cancellation and mobility management. In October 2008, Canadian operators Bell Canada and Telus selected Huawei to provide network infrastructure for its national overlay of HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) technology to its national EVDO (Evolution Data Optimized) wireless network. The HSPA overlay will also offer Bell an efficient upgrade path forward to LTE. The agreement would see Huawei providing Bell with radio access network technology for its new next generation wireless network.
