Andrew, and its representative in Chile, Raylex have signed a broad cooperation agreement with Chilean mobile operator, Entel PCS for Andrew’s role in the expansion of the Entel PCS network in that country. The project will expand Entel PCS’s cellular telephony network to improve coverage and serve a growing number of users in Chile. Under the multi-year agreement between the companies, Andrew is designated a principal supplier of wireless equipment for deployment in Entel PCS’s network, including antennas, coaxial cables, software tools, and repeater solutions for indoor and outdoor use. Andrew and Raylex also will train Entel PCS engineers in Chile and abroad. This agreement represents a step forward in the development of the telecommunications market in Chile and reaffirms the success of the companies’ collaboration, according to Sylvio Peres, Andrew’s vice president of Sales for Latin America. “Andrew and its local partner Raylex are proud to continue and expand their support of Entel PCS’s efforts in the growing and important Chilean market,” Peres said. “As a global leader in wireless technology with extensive experience in providing local support throughout this region, Andrew’s cooperation in sharing technology innovation, training, and logistical support will be available to provide significant benefits to Entel PCS as it expands its network and ability to serve customers in Chile.” Raylex, with a presence in the Chilean market for more than 41 years, represents Andrew and distributes Andrew’s entire product line.
