T3G Achieved the First TD-SCDMA Dual-band Handover under ZTE Network Environments
Updated:2008/10/20 09:03
T3G will demo its commercial dual mode terminal system solution T3G7210 during P&T/EXPO Comm China 2008, which is the world’s first TD-SCDMA terminal solution that can support TD-SCDMA dual-band (that is A:1880-1920MHz, B: 2010-2015MHz). This solution has already realized the handover of voice and data services under ZTE constructed dual band network environments. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) decided to allocate the 1880-1920MHz and 2010-2025MHz the totally 55M frequency band for TDD. It’s also confirmed by the Chinese government that the 1880-1920MHz is the core operation frequency band for China’s home-grown 3G standard TD-SCDMA, and the present 1900-1920MHz band which has been used for PHS will be gradually transferred to China Mobile for TD-SCDMA. It’s planned in the TD-SCDMA deployment that as the core operation frequency band 2010-2025MHz will be used for the construction of nationwide network in order to offer voice services and ordinary speed data services; while 1880-1920MHz is more suitable for high-speed data services (like TD-HSDPA/HSUPA/HSPA+ and etc.), special venues’ indoor coverage and network optimization in order to meet subscribers the requirements for high-speed data services. The T3G’s TD-HSDPA modem IC TD60291, which is the core part of the T3G7210 solution, is powered with advanced Embedded Vector Processor (EVP), supports TD-HSDPA/EGDE dual-mode automatic handover, 2.8Mbps TD-HSDPA and TD-MBMS. This solution can well meet operator and subscribers’ various requirements and help terminal vendors to fast launch commercial TD-SCDMA terminals with rich 3G multi-media applications. Recently, the T3G7210 based TD-HSDPA terminal products of T3G’s customers have got the official network access license issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The achievement in TD-SCDMA dual-band made by the two companies’ R&D engineers shows the feasibility of TD-SCDMA dual-band network construction and offer TD-SCDMA applications and commercialization a bright future.
