Italian ISP Tiscali has signed a deal with Cisco Systems for the supply of Internet Protocol next generation network (IP NGN) architecture and IP television (IPTV) headend equipment. The video headend will support the telco’s IPTV service, Tiscali.tv, which is available to customers in Cagliari, Rome, Milan, Bologna, Florence, Genoa, Naples, Palermo and Turin. ‘The importance of video in a triple-play service package cannot be underestimated,’ said Fabrizio Meli, Tiscali’s head of IPTV.
