Telecom equipment maker Ericsson has seen no trend yet for its telecom operator customers to hold back purchases due to the global financial crisis, its chairman said on Thursday.
"At the moment, even if the world is in this financial crisis, we see no tendencies that our customers are holding back," Ericsson Chairman Michael Treschow told Reuters on the sidelines of a conference held by the Danish industry lobby DI.
"So far there is no tendency that our sales are faltering," he said.
Treschow said Ericsson was well equipped to weather the storm in international financial markets, due to its strong capital base.
"This doesn't affect Ericsson because we have no problems in funding our activities and our liquidity is good," he said.
Ericsson shares were up 2 percent at 68.30 crowns at 1300 GMT, but down close to 10 percent from 75.80 earlier this month.
