Cleartalk recently announced the deployment of Nortel’s CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) network for the extension of its services to customers in Amarillo and Lubbock. With Nortel’s network, Cleartalk aims to deliver its customer a good-quality mobile communication at flat-rate voice plans, along with additional services like text messaging, long-distance calling and web surfing.

"We have partnered with Nortel to deliver a world-class wireless service to our customers powered by Nortel's CDMA solution that is critical to our business objectives for delivering a differentiated service," stated Kevin Beierschmitt, president and chief executive officer, Flat Wireless. "Our network from Nortel scales to support our unlimited usage plans and allowed us to quickly deploy and launch service in Amarillo and Lubbock. The network also provides us with a solid foundation to cost-effectively support growth and expansion in the future to continue exceeding our customer's expectations."

Flat Wireless, LLC (Limited Liability Company) does business in Texas under the name Cleartalk. Nortel’s solution will help Cleartalk in delivering its services both to rural as well as populated parts of Texas, thereby reaping the benefits of its recently acquired AWS (Advanced Wireless Services) spectrum. By using Nortel’s ATCA-based Packet Mobile Switching Center, Cleartalk will provide users with enhanced voice quality in its suite of voice and data services.

"Cleartalk brings a simple yet powerful service to meet needs of consumers and local businesses over the newly-acquired spectrum and our high-quality, all-IP digital wireless network will provide their subscribers with a versatile suite of features and services," commented Danny Locklear, vice president, Carrier Networks Marketing, Nortel.

Through Nortel's high-density Media Gateway 15000 in its network, Cleartalk will be transformed into a single platform that will not only integrate voice quality improvement features directly with IP (Internet Protocol) enabled voice path, but will also be simple to operate with a low cost of ownership.

"Nortel's CDMA network is a great choice for Cleartalk because it provides subscribers with an advanced wireless voice and data solution that leverages both Nortel's leadership in deploying commercial CDMA networks globally for more than a decade and over three decades of Nortel's digital switching experience in IP Core. CDMA continues to be an excellent technology choice providing a competitive edge to operators and a service that will attract new subscribers and help build a loyal customer base," Locklear concluded.
