Mobile Broadband Network Ltd (MBNL), the infrastructure joint venture between T-Mobile UK and 3 UK, has selected Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) as its technology partner for 3G network integration; no financial details of the deal have been revealed. NSN said that, in addition to 3G radio hardware, it would provide project management, network deployment and other services. MBNL is a 50:50 joint venture announced in December 2007 between 3 UK and T-Mobile which will see the two operators work together to combine their 3G networks with a view to increasing population coverage and reducing costs; it is estimated that the arrangement could see the two cellcos save up to GBP2 billion (USD3.68 billion) over ten years.
