ZTE Corp<000063> <763>, a leading Chinese telecom equipment and cell phone producer, has gained 40% of China Telecom's RMB 27.9 billion order of CDMA equipment tender, according to sources.
The rest of the order was obtained by Huawei and Alcatel-Lucent, whichgained 40% and 20% respectively.
For the short message equipments sector, ZTE won contracts of short message centers in 12 provinces and gateways of short messages business in 10 provinces. Huawei won contracts for short message centers in 11 provinces and gateways of short message business in 15 provinces. Alcatel-Lucent did not enter any bids in this sector.
In addition, ZTE gained three national platforms, comprising of national positioning, Telephone Number Mapping DNS and ISAG Router.
ZTE won a 20% share of the WAP gateway, a 50% share of the MMS center and a 40% share of the Integrated Service Management Platform (ISMP) and Integrated Service Access Gateway (ISAG) in China's 10 northern provinces. Alcatel-Lucent won a 50% share of the WAP gateway, a 20% share of the MMS center and a 30% share of ISMP and ISAG in China's 10 northern provinces. Huawei won more than a 30% share of WAP gateways, MMS centers and ISMP and ISAG.
