Wednesday, Technology and service provider LM Ericsson Telephone Co. stated that it has signed a two-year strategic partnership agreement with Iceland's operator Siminn to expand a network that will deliver enhanced mobile data services to remote areas.
Ericsson, under the agreement, will be the sole supplier of WCDMA/HSPA radio access equipment and GSM/WCDMA common core network. Ericsson will also expand Siminn's GSM network apart from upgrading software.
Once expanded, Siminn will launch WCDMA network in the 900MHz band with extended coverage because of improved radio-wave signal strength at lower frequencies.
The stock is currently trading at $11.36, down 1.47% on the Nasdaq.
