Ericsson gained a head start in the 3G equipment market in India as it bagged an order for 5 million GSM-based 3G lines from telecom major, BSNL. The operator which is guaranteed 3G spectrum is now aiming for the launch of the services in the next 6 months.
"We have already placed orders for five million lines to Ericsson for the 3G service," said BSNL chairman and managing director Kuldeep Goyal.
