A new roadshow being undertaken by telecommunications networking solutions provider Huawei aims to highlight the potential benefits of adopting an all-IP approach to establishing infrastructure.
Xiangjun Li, director of Huawei Europe's datacom product line, explains that transport networks are being placed under increasing demand due to the proliferation of triple-play services and broadband uptake.
He says: "They need more flexible networking capabilities, higher transport capacity and stronger data processing capabilities.
"By helping the migration to all-IP networks, Huawei hopes to provide customers with a smoother drive."
Customers throughout 13 different countries across Europe are to be given the opportunity to witness Huawei's IP, security and storage solutions as part of the roadshow.
A special Huawei truck is to roll into each destination, equipped with displays and demonstrations to demonstrate the advantages to be attained from accessing information when and where the user desires.
In the run-up to the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, Huawei established base stations at 5,200 metres and 6,500 metres above sea level on Mount Everest.
These were used to provide communications support to the team of athletes which carried the Olympic torch over the mountain on its route to the opening ceremony of the sporting event.
