Motorola has named Sanjay Jha as the new head of its mobile phones division and co-CEO of the entire company, effective immediately. Greg Brown will also serve as co-CEO of Motorola and has been named CEO of the new Broadband Mobility Solutions division, which groups its other two units, Home & Networks Mobility and Enterprise Mobility Solutions. Brown and Jha will share responsibility for Motorola during the process to split the business into two separate companies. Jha (45) served most recently as COO of Qualcomm, where he was responsible for overseeing corporate R&D and Qualcomm Flarion Technologies. Jha also served as president of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies. Prior to joining Qualcomm in 1994, Jha held design engineering roles with Brooktree and GEC Hirst Research Labs.
