Avaya Appoints Thomas Manley as Chief Financial Officer

Before joining Cognos, Manley held increasingly responsible general management and finance positions with Nortel Networks, including chief financial officer, High Performance Optical Component Solutions; senior vice president, finance, Service Provider and e-Business; and vice president, finance, Enterprise Systems. "Tom Manley's deep financial and operational expertise, as well as his knowledge of the communications and software industries, makes him an excellent addition to Avaya's executive team," said Charles Giancarlo, CEO, Avaya. "He has a record of success in growing businesses and leading operationally excellent global teams. These will be invaluable assets as we continue to grow and diversify Avaya's business." Manley graduated with distinction from Carleton University in Ottawa, with a bachelor's degree in engineering, and holds an M.B.A. from Queen's University in Ontario.
