Russian conglomerate AFK Sitema said Thursday it would use equipment supplied by Alcatel-Lucent and Chinese pair Huawei Technologies Co. and ZTE Corp. to build its cellular network in India.
ondon-listed Sistema said it considered a number of factors in evaluating the tender participants, including experience in implementation of large-scale projects, technical expertise, local resources and cost parameters.
"Each vendor will be allocated a certain geographical region in India for the deployment of equipment," Sistema said in a statement. It didn't disclose the value of the deals.
Sistema's Shyam Telelink now has frequencies capable of covering 27 Indian states with a population of 1.07 billion people.
