Motorola Helps Optimize Telefónica's Mobile Network in Spain
Updated:2008/6/25 11:22
Motorola has published the interim results of its two-year managed services contract with Telefónica to optimize the operators’ GSM network in Spain. The company reports that through the optimization process, Telefónica’s customers have benefited from improved network performance which has even resulted in the possibility in making calls from areas where previously it was impossible, thus increasing revenue for the operator. A reduction in dropped calls has also improved the overall experience and service quality for Telefónica’s customers. Using analytical tools and the information compiled from millions of real-life calls made over the network, Motorola continues to support Telefónica. “Our relationship with Motorola spans almost 20 years so they have a clear understanding of our business,” said Daniel Paul, radio access network director, Telefónica. “By using Motorola’s managed optimization services we can achieve the best possible quality of service to provide our customers, with the most advanced technologies, which allows us to concentrate on other aspects such as the modernization of functions and services which helps enrich our offerings to our clients.” “By capitalising on Motorola’s many years of experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining high-quality mobile networks, operators like Telefónica can focus on their core business initiatives and serving the customer demands ” said Eric Pradier, vice president Global Services, Motorola Home & Networks Mobility EMEA. “By enhancing the overall network performance and offering flexible managed services business models that deliver measurable results, Motorola enables operators to introduce new services as well as the provision of a robust, dependable network to accelerate the delivery of personal media experiences to their customers.”
