According to an informed source, Datang Mobile's TD-HSDPA data card has been awarded a network access permit by the Ministry of Industry and Information (MII). The card is understood to offer speeds of up to 2.2Mbps.
By comparison, the TCN230 TD-SCDMA data card produced by 3G chip maker Chongyou Information Technology achieves stable speeds of 800 to 900 Kbps, with peak speeds of 1.1Mbps.
HSDPA data cards currently available can achieve speeds of 1.1 Mbps, 1.6 Mbps, 2.1 Mbps, and 2.8 Mbps.
