Beijing municipal government has selected Alcatel-Lucent to deploy an optical transport network solution in Beijing, to enhance e-government security services and deliver mission critical communications.
This contract was signed through Alcatel Shanghai Bell, Alcatel-Lucent's flagship company in China. The e-government network, based on Alcatel-Lucent's optical multi-service solution, will link the units of the Beijing municipal government and enable the introduction of new applications such as video conferencing.
Under the terms of the agreement, Alcatel-Lucent will provide an end-to-end solution based on its optical multi-service node (OMSN) systems, as well as professional services including network design, deployment, project management and maintenance.
Olivia Qiu, president of Alcatel Shanghai Bell, said: "Our market-leading optical solutions and professional services will help the Beijing government upgrade its networks, enhance security applications for all of its citizens and visitors while minimizing operational costs."
