Alcatel-Lucent, the global communications major, has appointed Neoteric as its master distributor. With this announcement, the vendor is going to kick off its Tier II strategy for IP networking products and will thus enable the resellers to sell the complete range of IP networking portfolio of Alcatel-Lucent to the SME and large enterprise customers. According to Shekhar Agrawal, Director Enterprise Business, Alcatel-Lucent, the vendor plans to increase its reseller network to up to 70-100 resellers across 15 cities in India by the end of this year. "We are looking at adding 20 resellers every quarter to achieve this number. Through this network, we would like to penetrate 15 cities including three metros and 12 fast-growing 'B' cities," said Agrawal. Talking about the Neoteric tie-up, Agrawal said that Neoteric is among the top five IT distributors in India and services 6000 partners across 350 cities. He informed that Neoteric will also be having a team of sales and support people exclusively for Alcatel-Lucent to cater to all regions. "Neoteric will be our master distributor across all verticals. We would be targeting verticals like IT, ITES, BFSI, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Government, Healthcare, Education, and Media," added Agrawal. According to him, Neoteric has been widening its range of products for distribution in the 'Enterprise' segment and will be seen as a holistic player in the distribution segment. "Alcatel-Lucent with its end-to-end IP Networking and communication offering is extending its reach through Neoteric using their wide spread Branch network in 37 cities and core distribution strengths including system and processes," said Agrawal. He further informed that, through it's IP Networking and IP communication solutions, Alcatel-Lucent is uniquely placed to help SMEs leverage technology to compete with large enterprise competitors in India and globally. Agrawal added that the partnership between Alcatel-Lucent and Neoteric is hence a very significant step in achieving this objective and is integral to the vendor's growth strategy for India. "This partnership will establish a platform for us to expand our presence geographically across India and engage with SMEs from business segment perspective," said Agrawal.
