China Unicom released the operating data in January on February 20.
China Unicom has added 1.266 million mobile users with expenditure which reached 265.088 million totally and 5.978 million 4G users with the total hitting 110.529 million.
In January, the company's fixed broadband user base was raised by 910,000 to 76.146 million while its local fixed telephone users reduced 796,000 to 65.853 million. China Unicom has achieved a negative growth, losing 236,000 fixed broadband users in the last two months of 2016.
In spite of its increase in January benefitting from the Spring Festival promotions, there is a wide gap of monthly user growth and total user base between China Unicom and China Mobile which posted 80.579 million fixed broadband users by January this year.
