China Mobile's vice president Li Zhengmao shared the latest progress of the TD-LTE construction at the "4G to 5G-TDD Spectrum Seminar" which was held in Bangkok, Thailand on November 14.
By the end of the third quarter this year, China Mobile has built world's largest 4G network with 1.44 million 4G base stations, 34% of the global number and covering 99.7% of the population in China, and has 481 million 4G subscribers, 31% of the total worldwide, while VoLTE servies are launched in 313 cities.
With the joint efforts of China Mobile and its partners, over 2398 models of mobile phones support TD-LTE, of which more than 70% are priced at nearly CNY 1,000.
The development of TD-LTE lays a solid foundation for the future of 5G.
