Hu Junjun, general manager of IT R&D Center, China Telecom Guangzhou Research Institute, said publicly on June 1st that the company has been actively carrying out research and test of "network reconstruction" for years. As the key point of that, China Telecom has self-developed a NFVO product--e-MANO, which can improve service delivery and operational efficiency by providing multi-vendor, end-to-end business arrangement and flexible network resource scheduling capabilities across SDN/NFV. e-MANO has realized NFVO and VNFM capabilities defined by ETSI MANO by far.
Hu Junjun said e-MANO is characterized by completely independent research, open source and sound business model which concentrates accumulated expertise of China Telecom in mobile, data, IT and cloud computing and has passed group-level laboratory validity test of China Telecom.
According to Hu Junjun, China Telecom will conduct vePDG field test and e-MANO product trials this year while strengthening end-to-end resource arrangement, collaborative management capabilities and resource coordination and scheduling across SDN/NFV in commercial trials later. China Telecom will open e-MANO based on vePDG application, and this will push commercial process of NFV.
