China Mobile IoT connections have exceeded 60 million, injecting strong momentum into accelerating economic development and serving people's livelihood of China.
With the technology of IoT, China Mobile is positively developing in intelligent logistics, industrial energy efficiency, production monitoring and Car Networking and helping manufacturing enterprises and logistics enterprises realize remote monitoring and centralized management of the production process, greatly increasing enterprises' production scheduling capabilities and production efficiency. In the energy-saving management projects of elevators, lighting and engine room in the industrial plants, energy consumption has reduced over 30%; China Mobile also self-develops its Car Networking OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) devices with many domestic automotive enterprise groups, improving the intelligence level of automotive industry products.
In the field of agriculture, China Mobile carries out independent research and development of a series of narrow-band IoT (NB-IoT) products such as drip irrigation and pasture monitoring and has completes the prototype development of NB-IoT lora module and NB-IoT lora micro base stations. Recently, China Mobile conducts several field tests in agricultural areas in Sichuan, Xinjiang and other provinces and conducts tests in urban, suburban and rural areas, environment with ultra-low temperature and ground penetrating, all of which achieves good results.
China Mobile comprehensively promotes the livelihood projects based on the IoT technology. China Mobile guarantees that home appliances will be "always online" with the integrated solution of the IoT cloud-pipe-end, and provides stable, reliable and convenient product information transmission and control solutions for the household appliance enterprises; China Mobile launches community IOT cloud, elevator guard products and vehicle monitoring services, integrating Smart Home systems and community IoT systems and services and bringing residents more comfortable "digital" lifestyle experience; China Mobile also launches solutions for forest fire monitoring, geological disaster monitoring and intelligent rangers.
China Mobile will focus on the NB-IoT industry, increase resource input and promote the popularization of IoT. On one side, China Mobile will continue to develop dedicated IoT network, aiming to achieve 100 million connections in 2016; on the other side, China Mobile will work together with its partners to accelerate the maturity of the NB-IoT industry with global standard and application innovation of IoT. China Mobile will set open IoT laboratories, accelerating mature development of chips and modules, and create a public IoT network with low cost, low power consumption, wide coverage and high reliability. China Mobile strives to launch this network in 2017.
