According to the informed sources, China Mobile will start traffic data ladder price charging pilots in September in seven regions, including Beijing and other provinces.
The so-called traffic data ladder price charging model refers to no longer existence of package tariffs, the subscribers pay for the traffic data according to the amount they use, and the more data they use, the cheaper price will be. In the opinions of industry insiders, this is not only a measure to deal with the current fierce market competition, but also a positive respond to the government's "improve the speed and cut down the tariff" program.
Pay according to the amount you use, the lowest price of 0.03 yuan/Mb
At present, China Mobile is still working on the traffic data ladder price charging program, which includes 5 levels, with the traffic data unit prices decreasing from 0.15 yuan/Mb to 0.03 yuan/Mb, the highest ladder price is only 1/3 of the average price of the package tariffs.
The traffic data ladder price charging model is a response to the suggestion that some subscribers proposed “the telecom charging model can refer to the water and electricity fees”, the most significant characteristic is that it is clear and easy to understand, and there is no package tariffs, the subscribers only need to pay according to the amount of traffic data they use. In this way, the subscribers don’t have to worry about if their data shall exceed the package limit or whether clear the remained traffic data in their packages at the end of the months.
China Mobile said it will adjust and optimize the charging model according to the pilot situations and customer feedbacks, and strive to make the charging model closer to customers’ needs. In the next year, China Mobile will make optimization based on the pilot results and promote the program in the whole country.
