China Telecom plan to improve its broadband signing rate to 20M in 2015

The chairman of China Telecom Wang Xiaochu said that the backbone network and metropolitan area network have been upgraded to IPv6 in 2014, and the fixed broadband subscribers exceeded 120 million, in which the fiber broadband covered 150 million households and developed over 45 million subscribers ; over 390,000 administrative villages realized access of broadband and broadband subscribers reached 34 million in rural regions, which completed the "Twelfth Five-year Plan" ahead of schedule.

Looking ahead to 2015, China Telecom fiber broadband coverage will achieve another 45 million households and build a batch of all-fiber broadband network cities; promote the upgrade of broadband access rate and strive to make the average signing rate reach 20M by the end of 2015. In addition, China Telecom will accelerate to promote the coverage of 4G network and provide dual-100M network services, the 4G network will cover key cities, developed rural towns and the general area of the county towns.

The broadband market was opened to private capital in 2014, and China Telecom made remarkable performance in this aspect. In 2014, China Telecom cooperated with private capital and jointly launched 20,000 projects, which introduced a total of CNY 1.2 billion and developed 2 million FTTH subscribers. Wang Xiaochu pointed out, China Telecom will actively cooperate with the AP open pilot trials, firmly promote the broadband resale cooperation and comprehensively carry out the introduction of private capital to broadband access market.
