Insiders say that China Mobile will activate the third phrase TD-LTE network base station construction in advance and plans to establish 700,000 4G stations, more than 500,000 as expected. China Mobile wishes this could realize the continual coverage in all cities,counties and key villages.
China Mobile has been a leader in 4G station quantity due to its early start and it expands the coverage and speeds up station construction.
The latest news reveals that according to China Mobile schedule,the whole investment will be more than CNY 240 billion this year. China Mobile has deployed more than 500,000 4G stations until September 30th, covering more than 300 cities.
It is said that China Mobile 3rd phase TD-LTE project will continue to strengthen network coverage and system capacity, mainly in rural market, and will include counties and government villages of eastern developed provinces into 4G network coverage. Meanwhile, mobile broadband service begins to extend to rural region to spread 4G service to countryside.
The lasting, large-scale base station network construction will promote China Mobile 4G users more than those of China Telecom and China Unicom, going back to beautiful 2G ages. In 2014, China Mobile plans to develop 50 million 4G users. The task of 500,000 4G stations construction is regarded to be too radical at the first but it has been completed. the task of developing 50 million users can also be realized.
According to Q1 to Q3 financial reports posted by China Mobile, China Mobile 4G users have achieved 40.95 million, the single quarter increases 27.01 million with 194% growing rate until September 30th,2014. These 4G users are solid mobile users. China Unicom has 14.02 million new users and China Telecom has lost 5.34 million. Comparatively, China Mobile has obvious advantage in 4G service, establishing a strong operator role. China Mobile sets its 2016 user target to be 300 million.
With the strong competition with China Mobile in 4G service, the other two operators face with serious user crisis and loss of growth begins to appear.
