In China Mobile, subsidies for smartphones reached CNY 34 billion in last year, according to the plan, subsidies will be cut down to CNY 21 billion in this year, of which 15.3 billion has been used in the first half of the year.
Xi Guohua said, because the three major operators reduce their marketing costs simultaneously, so it will not affect the market competition. After the announcement of involvement of China Unicom, he said China Telecom will also cut its expenditure.
