On last Friday, China's MIIT issued FDD LTE trial network licenses that allowed China Telecom and China Unicom to carry out TD-LTE/LTE FDD hybrid networking trial respectively in 16 cities, but China Mobile was not mentioned.
China Mobile says, the integration of TD-LTE and LTE FDD is the development trend of 4G technology in global sight and China Mobile is conducting related research, preparing for submitting application to national regulator for TD-LTE and FDD LTE hybrid networking trial timely.
Now, China Mobile is able to realize highly integration of TD-LTE and FDD LTE with seamless switching, and it has released five-modes 10-band devices, five-mode 13-band devices, even six-mode multi-band devices.
President of China Mobile, Li Yue expressed on MWC recently that the everlasting pursuit of China Mobile’s promotion on TD-LTE industry development is to realize the integration.
Up to now, China Mobile has more than 320,000 4G base stations, covering 300 cities; there are more than 240 kinds of 4G devices, amounting to 12 million. According to the plan, by the end of this year,China Mobile’s 4G base stations are expected to exceed 500,000, covering more than 340 cities and administrative regions above counties will all be covered, thus becoming the largest 4G network globally.
