With outbound travel peak drawing near, in order to attract the flooding numbers of new international roam users in the next several months, China Unicom announced yesterday, that it will provide two international roaming data plans—66 RMB package for one day and 166 RMB package for one month. It was another act of China Unicom since it lowered the rates of domestic 3G/4G data plan not too long ago.
The new international roaming data plans will cover 43 popular countries and regions across the world including Europe, America, Asia, etc. The£¤66 package is suitable for the users with short period of outbound traveling and great need of traffic data;while £¤166 package is more practical for those who stay longer. Users can choose £¤66 daily plan( 80MB traffic) or £¤166 monthly plan (100MB traffic) on their own when they are travelling in 13 countries and regions including Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, USA, Japan, Korea, etc.
Before, China Mobile used to lower the rates of international roaming data plan, but it mainly focuses on calls. This time China Unicom chose to provide data traffic plans, which is likely to be followed by the other two operators."A new scramble is just beginning." predicted by industry analysts.
