Vodafone launches FTTH service in Spain from EUR 49/mth

Vodafone Spain has officially launched its FTTH service throughout Spain at prices starting from EUR 49 per month. The service will be available from 01 April in 800,000 households in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Malaga, Valencia and Zaragoza, subsequently expanding to Cordoba, Alicante, Valladolid, Vigo, Alcorcon, Badalona and Hospitalet de Llobregat. The Fibre 100 service (100 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload) is offered at the promotional price of EUR 49.55 (including line rental and VAT) during the first 12 months, instead of the usual price of EUR 61.65. Alternatively, users can opt for a 200 Mbps download and 20 Mbps upload connection for an extra EUR 10 per month.

The operator is also offering numerous convergent fibre and mobile bundles (Vodafone Integral), all of which have a 12-month tie-in period. These range from Smart S, which includes 200 minutes of mobile calls and 600 MB of mobile data for EUR 54 per month (including line rental and VAT), right up to Red XL, which comes with unlimited mobile calls and 4 GB of mobile data for EUR 90 per month. All bundles include 100 Mbps fibre broadband, 3,000 minutes of fixed line calls and 50 minutes of fixed to mobile calls per month. Users opting for the 200/20 Mbps service will be charged an extra EUR 10 per month irrespective of the bundle chosen.
