Level 3 connects network to 50 U.S. Air Force sites

Updated:2014/3/13 13:43

Level 3 Communications has been chosen by Northrop Grumman to deliver its network services as part of the government integrator's agreement with the U.S. Air Force to support its distributed simulation training network.

Under the terms of the agreement, Level 3 connected over 50 of the Air Force's Distributed Mission Operation Network (DMON) sites worldwide.

Designed to conduct virtual combat training, DMON's training center simulators transmit high-resolution images and training communications in real-time. Level 3's network services network is incorporated into the distributed training solutions Northrop Grumman provides to the U.S. Air Force.

While this is a big win for Level 3's public sector business, it is not a stranger to the Air Force.

Since 2003, Level 3 has been providing Northrop Grumman with network services, including Ethernet Private Line and Dedicated Internet Access, as part of two distinct network initiatives for the U.S. Air Force.
